    When Lifting a solid axle Hilux, the torque rod must be lengthened to take away the load now being placed on it and the springs.

    A common problem is sagging on the drivers side of the Hilux after the truck is lifted, this is caused when the rod has not been lengthened.

    The Torque rod is mounted to the top of the diff on the drivers side and connects to the chassis, Its job is to prevent the diff rolling forward when 

    under braking. if not changed to a adjustable unit when lifting the truck cracking of the chassis mount is possible.

    The adjustable torque rod will also help in fixing the problem of sagging springs, now that the length can be restored it will take the load off the drivers side spring which is usually the side that will sag.
